Le padel on TV, the padel at Roland Garros, attendance records, a crazy World Championship, titanic partnerships and investments ... 2021 will forever be the year of the real boom padel in France and worldwide.

“I no longer believe in the boom in padel, we've heard for years that it's going to happen and it doesn't ”, we heard not even two years ago. A year later, the panorama is completely different. The health crisis will have dynamited a rocket which is now launched at an unstoppable speed.

Grandiose events

International Championships

Le great success of the World Championships in Doha came to contrast with the European Championships in Marbella. But what a way to erase these Europe! the padel, and all of its actors, got what they deserved for the first time. A top-quality event with all the pieces that fit together, thus allowing forces to be united in the same direction.

“On an organizational level, it will be difficult to do better”, said the magician Sanyo, and on a sporting level'Spain reigned with a historic “female-male” double.

Our two French selections obtain the chocolate medal with two cruel 4th places.

“We will do better next year”, promised Luigi Carraro at the microphone of Padel Magazine from Qatar. In Spain, Italy or elsewhere, the FIP has the challenge of remaining on similar standings so that the Doha event becomes the standard for the World Championships.

Le World Padel Tour breaks records

The big international circuit has, for one more year, surpassed its own records. In terms of physical attendance - and after a year 2020 almost entirely behind closed doors - the WPT was full on several events. In Madrid for the Final Master in December, the WPT announced nearly 40 people over 000 days of competition. In Malmö, Sweden, 4 people attended the Open final!

Last October, 170 people watched the match between Navarro / Di Nenno and Ruiz / Stupaczuk simultaneously from the GOL TV channel to Spanish television. The popularity of World Padel Tour grows in many countries, and players are increasingly identified as global stars. (Even journalists from Padel Magazine are arrested in Madrid by strangers)

For 2022, the World Padel Tour will remain on the same line and the circuit intends to offer us even more beautiful events. Miami was recently announced for next season, and we also know that a WPT Open will be held in Occitanie at the end of spring!

2022 will be a year filled with international events in France with also the new edition of the tournament of Canet-en-Roussillon, a FIP Gold in Saint-Tropez, as well as an FIP Gold in Perpignan!
