We almost had a Frenchman in the final of the FIP Star Gran Canaria today but Jérémy Scatena and Roger Aromi lost by nothing yesterday in the semi-finals.

They had started perfectly with a convincing 6/1 in the first set, but behind Jérémy and Roger saw Fede Mouriño and Victor Mena take control in the second act. The Argentinian and the Spaniard picked up a set everywhere (6/3) and offered the white-hot public a third round.

A last set which was very hooked, and which saw the tricolor Jérémy Scatena put on a show, but unfortunately for him and his partner, it was their opponents who were the most solid in the “money time”. Led 5/2 then 6/4 in the decisive game, Mouriño and Mena still found the resources to win after the suspense 1/6 6/3 7/6 (6).
